Lamin*bloc

For many years hardwood walls were the most common playing surface for North American squash courts. The very best installations had the hardwood installed so that the edge grain formed the hitting surface.

Lamin*Bloc, the premier edge-grain hardwood panel from McWil Sports Surfaces is sourced on an exclusive basis and is ideal for all squash courts, particularly North American doubles courts. Lamin*Bloc offer this premium wall surface on a far more cost-effective basis than competitive materials.

McWil worked closely with coatings professionals to create the proper finish for wood walls.

Too often hardwood panels are coated with an epoxy finish that destroys the unique quality that wood brings to a court installation. The purpose of these finishes is to provide a "hard" surface that can be readily cleaned.

McWil Sports Surfaces first applies a coat of sealer to the Lamin*Bloc walls; this sealer penetrates the natural pores of the wood without closing them, and serves as a primer for the final finish. The playing surface is made up of two coats of washable latex enamel finish that can be cleaned regularly and can easily be lightly sanded and repainted as necessary using standard painting tools and skills.
